COVID-19 Vaccine Community Poll – Follow-up Survey

Vasculitis COVID-19 Vaccine 2022 Community Poll

Below are the results from our May 2022 survey.
To close out May’s Vasculitis Awareness Month, the Vasculitis Patient-Powered Research Network (VPPRN) and Vasculitis Foundation (VF) asked our community of patients with vasculitis to share their opinions and behaviors surrounding the COVID-19 vaccine.
We received an incredible response from our community – 1,244 total participants. Of that number, 1,083 are members of the VPPRN – you are powering the VPPRN so special shout-out to you! Thank you to all those who participated and for updating us on your health.
Take a look at what you told us.

Interested to see how these results compare to February 2021?

We are too!  February 2021 was when we last surveyed you on your opinions about the COVID-19 vaccine.  Take a look at the two infographics below and see what has changed from a year ago.

Conclusions

Based on these results, we see significant progress in COVID-19 vaccination rates since February 2021.
  • 94% of those who responded have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine (compared to only 30% in February 2021) AND
  • The number of individuals who have not received, or do not plan to receive, the COVID-19 vaccine has decreased substantially from 23% in February 2021 to just 6% in 2022.
These results are important because it tells us that our community of patients with vasculitis are taking the necessary steps to protect their health amidst the ongoing and ever-changing global pandemic and learning to live in a world with COVID-19.
