On Saturday, October 5, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Titans Womens’ Volleyball team chose the Vasculitis Foundation for its annual “Awareness Night” game. Each year the teams in the WIAC conference select one of their home games to raise awareness for a particular cause.
They chose to focus on fundraising for vasculitis for a compelling reason. The mother of one of their team members is diagnosed with Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA). Click here to learn more about this rare, autoimmune disease.
Sam Sibernagel is a sophomore on the school’s volleyball team. Her mother, Sue, was diagnosed with GPA in 2008 and is also in need of a kidney transplant.
Braeden Melton, Women’s Assistant Volleyball Coach, worked with the VF to create an online fundraiser that has raised $1050.00. The fundraiser will continue until November 1.
