On Tuesday, December 1, the Vasculitis Foundation will participate in Giving Tuesday, a global initiative dedicated to giving back. Charities, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
It’s a simple idea. Just find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to come together to give something more. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving. Join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity.
The VF will play on funding research and #GivingTuesday with our campaign #GivingTubesday, for the test tubes we often use to conduct research. Click here to access the online giving form or if you are using a mobile device, text VF to 41444. Your donation will be designated to support research on vasculitis.
The VF Research Program is currently funding 14 studies on vasculitis, including studies in Austria, Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom, and the United States. The goal of the program is to improve the quality of life for patients with vasculitis and to find ultimately the cause/s and cure for vasculitis.
The VF is also funding two fellowships: Dr. Rennie Rhee is in the second year of her fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, and this past July, Dr. Medha Soowamber started a one-year fellowship at the University of Toronto, Canada. The Fellowship Program encourages medical professionals to pursue careers in patient care and research linked to vasculitis.
