To ensure fellowship trainees receive the education and support required for completion of this academic year, a team of Program Directors have launched the Virtual Rheumatology (ViRL) Learning Collaborative. The concept was introduced by Anisha Dua, MD, MPH, Director at the Northwestern Vasculitis Center, Associate Professor of Medicine, Rheumatology, and Fellowship Program Director at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.
With the support of the American College of Rheumatology and the Committee on Training and Workforce, Dr. Dua assembled a team of 23 participating institutions to help develop and launch this unique learning opportunity. The complimentary virtual lectures, which began on April 6, 2020, will be delivered every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 am – 10 am (CST), and will be recorded for those who can’t attend live.
This eight-week lecture series (24 in total), is available to all fellowship training programs. Rheumatology experts from around the country will provide the lectures, which will include time for a moderated Q&A. The schedule of lecture topics and speakers can be found at https://www.rheumatology.org/Portals/0/Files/ViRL-Program-Schedule.pdf.
