The Russell/Engleman Rheumatology Research Center supports research, training, and patient care in the adult and pediatric rheumatology programs at UCSF. These virtual presentations will be of interest to our patients with rheumatic diseases as well as their family members and friends.  The presenters are esteemed members of UCSF/Division of Rheumatology faculty.  Future topics will focus on new and developing treatments for rheumatic disease and breakthroughs in research.  We hope you will join us.   Please feel free to share this message with all who will find it helpful and of interest.

About our first presenters:

Jon Graf MD Jon Graf MD:  Jonathan Graf is a Professor of Medicine at UCSF.  He is co-founder and director of the UCSF rheumatoid arthritis (RA) cohort which supports clinical and translational research in RA at UCSF and with collaborators throughout the United States. His current research interests focus on defining and modifying cardiovascular risk in patients with RA and on identifying novel biomarkers to better predict clinical disease course and response to therapy.  During the COVID-19 pandemic, he has been a key contributor to major national and international studies of disease outcomes and vaccine effects in patients with RA and other autoimmune diseases.

David Wofsy, MD:  David Wofsy is Professor of Medicine Emeritus at UCSF, the Director of the Russell/Engleman Center, and a past-president of the American College of Rheumatology.  Dr. Wofsy’s research has focused on the development of new treatments for diverse autoimmune diseases, primarily for RA and systemic lupus erythematosus. Dr. Wofsy was trained at UCSF School of Medicine, where he completed his residency and fellowship in Rheumatology before joining the faculty and eventually serving as Associate Dean for Admissions.
