The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) invites stakeholders and those interested in inflammation research to observe the NIAMS roundtable discussion on inflammation resolution, which will be held virtually.

Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 16-17, 2021 (12-4 pm ET each day)

A sudden and strong inflammatory response is crucial for fighting infections. Equally important is the resolution phase, when inflammation subsides, and injured tissues begin to heal. An improperly resolved inflammatory response can lead to chronic inflammation and a host of diseases. Despite a deepening understanding of the mechanisms of acute inflammation, little is known about the resolution phase. To address this issue, NIAMS has gathered experts in various fields to identify research gaps, discuss the best technologies and experimental models to address these gaps, and establish areas of collaboration.
