As part of the “Lung Disease Week at the ATS” program, and in conjunction with ATS Public Advisory Roundtable (PAR) partners the Scleroderma Foundation and the Vasculitis Foundation, the American Thoracic Society presents a live patient education webinar.The topic of the webinar is “Mental and Physical Health” and the featured panelists are Leslie Saketkoo, MD, MPH, associate professor of medicine in the Department of Medicine at Tulane University, and Stacey Ivits, MSW, RSW, a private practice psychotherapist who specializes in counseling to help patients navigate chronic physical and mental health challenges. Other discussants are Angel Soto, Associate Director for Education and Mission Delivery at the Scleroderma Foundation, and Joyce Kullman, Executive Director of the Vasculitis Foundation –both are current members of the ATS Public Advisory Roundtable (PAR). The overall discussion will largely focus on the psychological health and wellbeing of lung disease patients as well as the mind-heart-body connection.
