Celeste has Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (Wegeners). In this extraordinary vasculitis story, Celeste talks about how her life changed when she was diagnosed with Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (Wegeners) in 1982. Just at a point when she should have been preparing for college and living an active social life, Celeste found herself fighting a rare disease.
Celeste also chronicles how she received a “gift of life” thanks to an organ donation from a young boy who unfortunately met a tragic end.
She has also become an advocate for a new approach to healthcare—encouraging a more patient-centric approach so the patient can be more of a partner in the outcome.
Celeste’s story is positive and inspirational for anyone fighting a rare disease such as vasculitis. Her story will especially hit home for young adults battling vasculitis.
Note—For those of you who attended the Philadelphia Symposium in July you may remember Celeste’s excellent presentation.
