The Vasculitis Foundation was established to alleviate the isolation that patients and their families experience when these rare life-threatening diseases affect them. The Vasculitis Foundation helps patients and their families build a strong positive outlook.
The Foundation’s trademark of three rings represents the small, medium and large vessels which are affected by different types of vasculitis. Although each type of vasculitis is different, they all share some common characteristics. The Vasculitis Foundation is committed to improving the lives of all our patients living with vasculitis.
The following message from the foundation’s archives introduces Marilyn Sampson, who established the organization in 1986 to help other patients and families. Mrs. Sampson was a registered nurse and a Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA/Wegener’s) patient.
