Marcia has Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (GPA/Wegener’s). As you watch Marcia’s video, you may sense a familiar story that vasculitis patients know all too well. She describes her visits to one doctor after another as they tried to pinpoint her chronic symptoms. Each one seems to have a little bit of a clue, but the whole puzzle didn’t come together. It finally took an ENT to make the diagnosis of GPA (Wegeners).
Her disease journey has taken her through all of the traditional therapies, but in the end she credits Rituximab with ultimately helping her to reach a point of feeling better.
Marcia also credits the Vasculitis Foundation with providing her a life line to critical contacts and resources.
An interesting story that will remind viewers that living with vasculitis is a never-ending rollercoaster. All you can do is hang on for the ride!
