History of the Vasculitis Foundation
The Vasculitis Foundation (formerly the Wegener's Granulomatosis Association) was founded in 1986 by Marilyn Sampson, a Wegener's patient and registered nurse.
Established to alleviate the isolation that patients and their families experience when these rare life-threatning diseases affect them, the Vasculitis Foundation (VF) helps patients and their families build a strong positive outlook.
The following messages from the VF archives introduce some of the key individuals who were instrumental in establishing the VF and promoting the need for organized assistance for patients who live with vasculitis.
