Sacramento Area, California Chapter

The Sacramento Area Chapter covers the greater Sacramento region including communities within a 40-mile radius of the city.  The first meeting of the chapter was in March 2009.  Attendance doubled from seven at the first meeting to 15 people at the second meeting in June.  This is a very proactive chapter, full of support, knowledge, and energy despite the varied health conditions of its members. 

In addition to offering a valuable network to the community and our members, the chapter has a mission to support ways to improve physician knowledge and access so that vasculitis patients have a “West Coast” center of excellence for diagnosis and treatment, similar to the Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic.  We meet in the community room at a local library and our goal is to meet at least quarterly.  We intend to have guest speakers periodically.  We hope to have a chapter garage sale in the fall to raise funds for our website and miscellaneous chapter activities and donate the remainder to VF.
