John's fundraising event is running in a 5 mile run called "The Bear." It is a run up the 2nd highest mountain in North Carolina (approximately 6,000 ft. elevation). The race has approximately a 2,800 ft. elevation gain over the course of 5 miles. "I am asking people to donate to the Vasculitis Foundation because my father was diagnosed with Wegener's a few years ago. Per John, anyone who donates more than $40, gets to guess his completion time for the course. The individual who has the time closests to his finishing time will be the winner.
