Central New Mexico Chapter
I am the Leader of the Central New Mexico Chapter of the Vasculitis Foundation. We have been having monthly meetings at 7:00 PM every third Thursday at the Albuquerque Grill restaurant, which have not been well-attended. We are going to try to have some social outings. See our chapter web page for meetings:

I have several plans for attracting speakers...but we haven’t had any speakers yet.
One method is to "Invite a Doctor to Dinner". The idea is that any one patient may invite their doctor to come to a meeting to speak on a specific topic and perhaps answer some simple Q&As.
The top docs are very busy. However, if you live near a teaching college, look for the Rheumatology Fellowship program and invite a resident MD. They know a lot about the basic stuff, and may take time to put together a nice presentation when the more established docs may not have the time. Another method is to "Host a Group Clinic". With some cooperation with the clinic, it is possible to promote a "Group Clinic" whereby several patients with the same diagnosis can attend on the same day, or even at the same time.
