excitement of the upcoming Symposium get in the way of their training! On the weekend prior to the big event, the team of three will compete in the Buffalo, Minnesota Triathlon. Their team name? Team Blood Vessels.

Representing small, medium and large blood vessels, Christy, Steve, and Joyce will compete on June 1 to raise awareness of vasculitis and funds for the Foundation. Christy (aka, Small Blood Vessel) will swim .9 miles then tag Joyce (aka Medium Blood Vessel) for the 24.8 mile bike ride, who will then tag Steve (aka Large Blood Vessel) for the 6.2 mile run.

Raising awareness and supporting the VF are key responsibilities of VF Board members. Christy and Steve both have vasculitis and Joyce’s dad and uncle have vasculitis. There team is competing in honor of patients worldwide. Be sure to ask Team Blood Vessels about their experience when you meet them at the June Symposium!
