VF members and friends have the opportunity to support Joyce's efforts by sponsoring any or all of the three of Joyce's events, which include a 1/2-mile swim, a 12-mile bike ride and a 3-mile run. Joyce, age 44, has been training hard for this event. She is at the gym most mornings by 5:30 a.m. and alternates training by swimming, biking, or jogging. Joyce competed in her first ever triathlon last year in Austin, Texas. The triathlons, part of the Danskin Women's Triathlon Series, are held around the USA every spring and summer.

Joyce will be joined in this event by Ann Corbo, Project Manager of the Vasculitis Clinical Research Consortium (VCRC) and will be cheered on by VF members who live in the area. If you wish to join this group of supporters, you can find information, including directions, at the Danskin site. VF members and friends are asked to support this ambitious endeavor by pledging $10 for each event, or $25 for all three events. Alternately, donations in any amount may be made to honor Joyce's efforts. All proceeds will be used to support awareness and education campaigns to help raise awareness for this family of rare diseases. Donations and pledges may be sent to the VF office or made online.
