Chicago Area Vasculitis Education and Support Group (CAVES)
Our group is the Chicago Area Vasculitis Education and Support group. We are also known as CAVES. We welcome anyone to our meetings that has an interest in vasculitis.
“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass; it’s about learning to dance in the rain.” -author unknown
This quote sums up the philosophy of the CAVES chapter. Our goal is to learn to live well with vasculitis. To us, that means learning from guest speakers on a variety of topics. It also means learning from each other. The group serves as a resource for support, education and improving awareness.
What can one expect at our meetings? We start with a guest speaker, have snacks, time to socialize and share experiences, celebrate (not only relating to vasculitis) and end with an inspirational quote or story and a door prize or two. We also have many resources available for those that attend out meetings. To learn more, please visit: www.chicagovasculitis.com
Our group is flexible in that it meets at various hospital settings in the suburbs of Chicago. We typically meet on Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon every 2-3 months. We also work as a group on some fundraising and awareness efforts.
